WASHINGTON, December 16 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) floated the His Majesty King Saud ship, the first vessel under the Tuwaiq Project, in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Tuwaiq Project includes the construction of four multi-mission combat ships for the RSNF.

The flotation ceremony was attended by Chief of Naval Staff Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Ghuraibi, along with senior Saudi and U.S. military officials, and representatives from Lockheed Martin and Fincantieri, companies involved in defense and naval shipbuilding.

On the occasion, Al-Ghuraibi expressed his satisfaction with the flotation of the vessel, noting that continued support from the Kingdom’s leadership has enabled qualitative achievements in the modernization and development of the Armed Forces, particularly the RSNF.

He said the Tuwaiq Project represents a strategic pillar in the development of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, reflecting the Kingdom’s direction toward building a modern and professional naval force based on advanced military technologies, as well as comprehensive training and qualification programs.

Al-Ghuraibi added that the project enhances the operational readiness of the RSNF to protect the Kingdom’s strategic interests and secure vital maritime routes. He noted that the ships are equipped with advanced combat systems enabling them to conduct a range of naval warfare missions and engage aerial, surface, and subsurface targets.
