Royal Order Transforms Ehsan Platform Into Independent Nonprofit Foundation

RIYADH, August 20 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — A Royal Order has given Ehsan a new institutional structure, transforming the National Platform for Charitable Work into an independent non-profit foundation named the Ehsan Foundation for Charitable Work.

The change follows more than five years in which the platform received over 440 million donations with a combined value of SAR17 billion.

Under its new status, the foundation will provide donation opportunities for individuals and companies while connecting donors with beneficiaries. Its work will include coordination with government bodies and private-sector entities to improve the efficiency of Saudi Arabia’s non-profit sector.

A separate Royal Order formed the foundation’s Board of Trustees under the chairmanship of Dr. Majid Al-Kassabi, with Ahmed Al-Rajhi serving as deputy chairman. Members will serve three-year terms that may be renewed.

The board also includes Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, governor of the General Authority for Awqaf; Eng. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Ruwaitea; Adib bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Zamil; Princess Nouf bint Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Abdulrahman; Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen bin Mohammed Al-Khalaf; and Emad bin Abdulqader bin Abdulmohsen Al-Muhaideb.

The foundation’s mandate extends to developing services offered through the Ehsan platform and encouraging innovation in charitable giving. It will also support charitable programs, services and non-profit donation platforms while bringing technical and professional work across the charitable and development fields into a more coordinated framework.
