Riyadh, February 27, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – King Khalid International Airport completed a terminal relocation project from February 16 to 25, redesignating terminals to optimise operations for national and foreign carriers.

Under the new layout, Terminals 1 and 2 have been assigned to national carriers’ international flights, Terminals 3 and 4 to their domestic flights, and Terminal 5 to foreign carriers’ international flights.

Riyadh Airports Company Chief Executive Officer Ayman Aboabah said the transition followed an operational plan involving more than 650 field support teams and free transport services, including the Riyadh Metro and shuttle buses. The airport handled more than 1.04 million passengers across 7,650 flights during the period, with full operational stability, he said.

The expansion is set to increase total capacity from 42 million in 2025 to 56 million by the end of 2026 and lift transit capacity to 7.5 million passengers annually, the draft said, citing alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
