JEDDAH, October 9 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Argentine artist Matilde Marín’s “Photographing Distance” exhibition has opened at Red Sea Museum in Historic Jeddah, marking its Saudi debut, SPA reported. The exhibition runs through December 31.

Photography and video installations feature lighthouses around the world, including in Jeddah and Yanbu. The works explore their role in maritime navigation and human memory, alongside the connections between people and places.

The exhibition draws on Matilde Marín’s “Pharus” project, which began in 2005. Its artistic concept presents lighthouses as symbols of guidance and hope as well as navigational structures.

Red Sea Museum, which operates under Museums Commission, is hosting an accompanying public programme of film screenings, poetry evenings, creative photography workshops and family activities, including lighthouse model-making.
