QatarEnergy halts LNG production after Iranian drone attack on Ras Laffan

Doha, March 2, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – QatarEnergy has stopped liquefied natural gas production after an Iranian drone attack on its facility in Ras Laffan on Monday, the company said in a statement shared with CNN.
The facility was targeted in a drone attack alongside a separate power facility in Mesaieed, south of Doha.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defense said investigations were under way to determine the extent of the damage.
Qatar is one of the world’s largest LNG exporters and accounted for nearly 20% of global LNG exports in 2024, according to a U.S. Energy Information Administration country analysis brief
