Qatar rejects Iran claim strikes targeted only U.S. interests, ministry says

Doha, March 4, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Qatar rejected Iran’s claim that it had targeted only U.S. interests in Qatar, after Abbas Araghchi made the claim during a phone call on Wednesday, Qatar’s foreign ministry said.


Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani “categorically rejected” the claim, according to a readout released by the foreign ministry.


The minister said attacks had also targeted residential areas and critical infrastructure, including near the main airport and liquefied natural gas facilities, the readout said.


The call was the first engagement between Iran and Qatar made public since the war started over the weekend, according to the information provided.
