Qatar emir, Trump discuss regional de-escalation efforts

DOHA, May 23 — Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed regional developments and efforts to consolidate calm and reduce tensions, Qatar News Agency reported.
The two leaders discussed support for diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan to prevent further escalation and safeguard international peace and security.
The call also addressed the importance of continued dialogue, maritime security, the safety of strategic waterways and the flow of global supply and energy chains.
