Qatar emir, Macron discuss Ras Laffan attack, call for immediate de-escalation

RIYADH, March 19 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday, during which the two leaders discussed regional developments following the attack on Ras Laffan Industrial City, QNA reported.

The talks focused on the escalation following the strike, which both sides said risked threatening regional security and stability and disrupting global energy supplies.

Macron stressed the need for an immediate halt to military escalation targeting civilian infrastructure, particularly energy and water facilities, and underscored the importance of protecting civilians and safeguarding essential supplies, QNA said.

Sheikh Tamim said continued attacks on vital facilities posed a direct threat to regional and international stability.

He renewed calls for an immediate end to the escalation, stronger international efforts to contain tensions and diplomatic action to prevent the crisis from widening.
