Qatar Condemns Iranian Attacks and Calls for Regional De-escalation

DOHA, July 14, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Qatar condemned repeated Iranian attacks against Arab countries across the Gulf and wider Middle East on Tuesday, including Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for the region to be protected from the consequences of the attacks and urged continued diplomatic efforts.
The ministry emphasized “the need to spare the region the repercussions of these unjustified attacks, continue pursuing dialogue and diplomacy, and reduce escalation in a manner that contributes to strengthening regional and international security and stability.”
The statement followed a series of Iranian attacks reported across the region.
Jordan said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed four missiles launched from Iran on Tuesday morning.
Bahrain said it intercepted and destroyed several Iranian missiles and drones, while Kuwait’s military announced that its air defence systems were engaging hostile aerial targets.
Kuwaiti authorities also reported drone attacks over the weekend against border posts and an offshore oil platform.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has advised airlines to avoid the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, as well as part of the Gulf of Oman, amid heightened regional security risks.
