Qatar Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia, Calls for International Action

DOHA, September 8, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Qatar has strongly condemned Houthi attacks on civilian and economic sites in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran that injured dozens of civilians, including women and children.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned continued attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea.

The ministry described the attacks as a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, a clear breach of international law and a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability.

Qatar called for an immediate end to the attacks and reaffirmed its firm rejection of any targeting of civilians, civilian sites and vital facilities.

The ministry urged the international community to adopt a decisive position and ensure the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

It highlighted Resolution 2216 of 2015 concerning Yemen and Resolution 2722 of 2024 concerning the security of navigation in the Red Sea.

Qatar reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed support for all legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

The ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security was an integral part of the collective security of Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
