Princess Sarah bint Bandar, Russian Agriculture Minister Discuss Dates Sector Cooperation

ST. PETERSBURG, June 6 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — International Dates Council Executive Director Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz met Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut on the sidelines of the 2026 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The meeting discussed Russia’s accession to the International Dates Council and ways to strengthen international cooperation in the dates sector.
The two sides reviewed partnerships supporting sector growth and the development of dates value chains globally.
Princess Sarah presented the council’s strategic directions, future priorities and projects implemented with member states and international partners.
The meeting also reviewed the International Dates Observatory, a digital platform being developed to monitor and analyze global trade and economic data related to dates.
The Russian side expressed interest in the observatory and its expected role in supporting trade development, investment opportunities and decision-making for governments and investors.
The two sides emphasized continued coordination and knowledge exchange to support the international development of the palm and dates sector.
