MADINAH, Dec. 29 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Executive Director of the International Dates Council, toured several date factories in Madinah, reviewing operations and production lines as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s dates sector.
During the tour, Princess Sarah reviewed production stages, technologies used for sorting and packaging, quality control standards, and product development initiatives aligned with local and international market requirements.
She discussed challenges facing Madinah date exports, including logistical and procedural obstacles affecting the delivery of products to overseas markets, and explored ways to address them in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Princess Sarah also emphasized the importance of expanding processing industries to increase added value and reduce reliance on exporting raw dates, noting that such steps would enhance the competitiveness of Saudi date products globally.
She underscored the role of the private sector in developing the dates industry and highlighted the need for integrated efforts between producers and relevant entities to support food security, boost exports, and access new global markets.
