Powerful Earthquake Strikes Near Russia’s Kamchatka Region

Moscow, September 13, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck near the east coast of Russia’s Kamchatka region on Saturday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported.
GFZ said the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). The United States Geological Survey (USGS) measured the quake at magnitude 7.4 with a depth of 39.5 kilometers (24.5 miles).
The Pacific Tsunami Warning System said there was a potential threat of a tsunami following the earthquake.
In Japan, to the southwest of the Kamchatka Peninsula, no tsunami warning has been issued, broadcaster NHK reported, citing the Japan Meteorological Agency.
