PIF London Championship Opens With Leading Women Golfers at Centurion Club
LONDON, August 6 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The sixth PIF London Championship began at Centurion Club on Thursday, bringing an international field of women golfers to the four-day competition.
The tournament is being held from August 6 to 9 in St Albans, Hertfordshire, near London. It is sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and awards world ranking points.
English golfer Charley Hull said the Centurion Club layout tests different aspects of players’ performance through a combination of narrow holes and open, challenging fairways. She said winning the tournament would represent a significant achievement given the level of the field.
The top 60 players and those tied with them will advance after 36 holes to compete in the weekend rounds for the title.
Organized by Golf Saudi as part of the PIF Global Series, the tournament is being staged at Centurion Club for the sixth consecutive year.
The competition is supported by the Public Investment Fund and includes Golf Saudi community initiatives, with interactive areas dedicated to junior development and encouraging younger generations to take up golf.
