Riyadh, February 27, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Friday that Pakistan could no longer tolerate militant attacks from armed groups he said the Taliban government has allowed to base on Afghan territory.

“Our cup of patience has overflowed. Now it is open war between us and you,” Asif wrote on X, referring to Afghanistan.

The Taliban have denied the charge that they harbour militants.

Asif also said Pakistan’s military was unlike the U.S. and NATO-led forces that carried out a two-decade mission in Afghanistan after the fall of the first Taliban government in 2001, before the Taliban retook Kabul in 2021.

“Pakistan’s army did not come from across the seas. We are your neighbors; we know your ins and outs,” he wrote.
