RIYADH, June 20 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Pakistan and Qatar will attend talks between the United States and Iran in Switzerland on Sunday, CNN reported, citing Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.

The technical-level talks are set to take place in Bürgenstock, a Swiss mountain resort, the ministry said.

Officials from Pakistan and Qatar will participate in the discussions as mediators.

“Pakistan will continue to facilitate the process in its role as mediator, with a view to advancing the understandings reached under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding,” Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said.

Iran and the United States have confirmed they are sending delegations to the talks.

The discussions are expected to take place as continued fighting in Lebanon threatens to disrupt the diplomatic process.
