Over 52 Million Visit the Two Holy Mosques During Safar 1447 AH

Riyadh, August 31, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Presidency for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced that the number of Umrah performers and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques during the month of Safar 1447 AH reached 52,823,962.
At the Grand Mosque, the total number of visitors stood at 21,421,118, including 51,104 who prayed at Hijr Ismail (Al-Hateem). The number of Umrah performers reached 7,537,002.
The Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah received 20,621,745 visitors, with 1,188,386 praying in Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa. In addition, 2,004,608 visitors offered greetings to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his two Companions.
The presidency said that advanced technology based on sensor readers at the main entrances of both mosques is used to monitor visitor and pilgrim numbers. The system, developed in partnership with relevant authorities, helps track crowd flows and supports operational management.
