Northern Lights Illuminate Sky Over Russia’s Novy Urengoy

PARIS, November 27, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The sky above the city of Novy Urengoy in Russia’s Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District lit up with the Northern Lights, as time-lapse footage captured emerald waves of light moving across the night sky.

Local media outlet Vioriy reported that residents in several other northern regions observed the natural phenomenon on the same day.

The aurora borealis occurs in the upper layers of the Earth’s atmosphere during periods of intensified geomagnetic activity. The phenomenon can last from a few minutes to several days.
