RIYADH, August 23 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — More than 1.6 million students returned to public schools across Riyadh Region on Sunday for the first day of the 2026/2027 academic year.
Educational and administrative teams were deployed across 8,652 schools as the region’s public education system began the new school calendar.
Schools reported strong attendance during morning assemblies, with the General Administration of Education in Riyadh Region overseeing preparations for the opening day.
