Makkah Joint Defense Summit Adopts Three-Nation Mutual Security Agreement

MAKKAH, August 7 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan signed the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement, which stipulates that an armed attack against any one of the three countries constitutes an attack against them all.
The agreement was signed by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The leaders held the Makkah Joint Defense Summit at the Royal Court in Al-Safa Palace, where they reviewed relations between the three countries and issues of common interest.
Erdoğan and Sharif visited Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
According to the joint statement, the agreement aims to strengthen joint deterrence against acts of aggression and develop all aspects of defence cooperation among the three states.
The statement said the agreement builds on historical ties, bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity, shared strategic interests and close defence cooperation.
