Kuwait Condemns Houthi Allegations Against Saudi Arabia, Reaffirms Full Solidarity

KUWAIT CITY, July 21, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Kuwait strongly condemned statements issued by the military spokesperson of Yemen’s Houthi militia accusing Saudi Arabia of besieging the Yemeni people and imposing a maritime blockade.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the allegations and reaffirmed the country’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
The ministry expressed support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security and sovereignty, stressing that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the other Gulf Cooperation Council states.
Kuwait called on the international community to ensure the implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 concerning Yemen and Resolution 2722 concerning navigational rights and freedoms in the Red Sea.
The ministry emphasised that freedom of navigation in international waterways is guaranteed under international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
