Kushner says Iran’s public statements differ from private messages

MIAMI, March 26, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Jared Kushner said on Thursday that Iran’s public statements often differ from what is communicated behind closed doors, speaking at a Saudi investment summit in Florida as the war continues to escalate.

Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative summit in Miami, Kushner said Iranian public remarks were often aimed at domestic audiences rather than reflecting private communications.

“The one thing with the Iranians, and we’re seeing this even now, is you have to ... just ignore a lot of what they say publicly, because I think that their statements are usually more for their domestic audiences,” Kushner told the audience.

His comments came shortly before Steve Witkoff told President Donald Trump’s Cabinet meeting that the United States had presented Iran with a 15-point “action list” and that there was a “possibility” of a deal between the two sides.

Witkoff said that assessment came despite Iranian assertions that there had been no communication with Washington during the ongoing war.
