RIYADH, April 6, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - The Kremlin said on Monday that the war involving Iran was widening in both geographic scope and economic impact, describing the Middle East as “on fire” following U.S. and Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said tensions in the region were continuing to rise and warned of “very, very negative consequences” for the global economy.

Asked about U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to target Iran’s power plant and bridges on Tuesday if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened, Peskov said Russia had seen the remarks but declined to comment directly.
