King Salman to host 1,000 Umrah performers at personal expense


RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, June 24 — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has approved the hosting of 1,000 male and female Umrah performers from around the world at his personal expense.


The initiative falls under the Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit, implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.


The program will be carried out in four phases during the 1448 AH year. The first group includes 250 Umrah performers from 16 Asian countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, China, Japan, Korea and Mongolia.


Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh said the initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to serving Islam and Muslims and enabling Muslims from around the world to perform Umrah and visit the holy sites.
