King Salman Praises Makkah Summit as Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan Advance Defence Partnership

JEDDAH, August 11 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud praised the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Summit for Joint Defence on Tuesday, highlighting a new long-term framework for defence cooperation between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan.
Chairing the Cabinet session in Jeddah, King Salman thanked Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for their efforts in convening the summit.
The King said its outcomes reinforced the historic ties between the three countries and established a framework for deeper cooperation, coordination and integration on defence and regional security.
The Cabinet also reviewed regional and international developments, with Saudi Arabia reiterating its support for de-escalation, diplomatic solutions and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states. It stressed the importance of protecting navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al-Mandab, citing their importance to global economic stability.
Ministers welcomed the UN Security Council’s condemnation of Houthi attacks threatening regional security and maritime navigation. The Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s right to protect its security and resources, while maintaining support for Yemen’s legitimate government and UN-led peace efforts.
On the Palestinian issue, the Cabinet rejected attempts to change the legal and historical status of Jerusalem and called for international action to halt Israeli violations in Gaza and the West Bank and protect holy sites.
The session also highlighted Riyadh’s hosting of the fourth UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in September and approved a series of international cooperation measures, including agreements involving logistics with Morocco, peaceful uses of outer space with Japan and Halal affairs with Thailand.
