LONDON, September 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — King Charles III and Queen Camilla will host Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman for a state visit to the United Kingdom next month, Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday.
The Omani leader will be received at Windsor Castle during the three-day visit, scheduled for October 20 to 22.
The visit comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following the U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran in February and subsequent Iranian strikes against Israel and Gulf countries hosting American military facilities.
Oman has been holding talks with Iran aimed at restoring commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important shipping routes.
U.S. President Donald Trump previously threatened military action against Oman if the country obstructed Washington’s objectives concerning Iran and the strait.
The British royal family has already hosted two state visits this year. Nigerian President Bola Tinubu visited in March, followed by Trump in April.
