TEHRAN, July 6 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - A vehicle carrying several coffins painted with the Iranian flag moved through central Tehran on Monday as part of the main funeral procession for slain Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The ornate white and green vehicle carried the coffins through streets packed with mourners, with its sides partly open so people could see inside as it passed.

The main procession route was filled to capacity, while crowds also spread into nearby side streets as many gathered to see the passing cortège.

Chants filled the air during the procession, including repeated cries of “Death to America, death to Israel.” Footage showed people burning the American flag and the Union Jack, while others held banners showing images of U.S. leaders in crosshairs.

Mourners, many of them dressed in black, stood along the route as water jets sprayed mist over the crowd to cool people in the summer heat. Temperatures in Tehran were expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius, or 98 degrees Fahrenheit.

Khamenei was killed along with several members of his family in an airstrike after the United States and Israel launched their war with Iran on February 28.
