KFCRIS and King Faisal Prize Explore Human Creativity in the AI Era

RIYADH, August 26 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The changing boundary between human creativity and content generated by artificial intelligence shaped a seminar organized on Tuesday by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies and the King Faisal Prize.
Held within the institutions’ joint cultural program, the seminar brought together academics and specialists in literature, AI and intellectual property. Prince Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, chairman of the KFCRIS board of directors, attended the event.
Discussions examined how generative technologies are affecting literature and scientific research, including their capacity to produce text and emulate elements of human experience. Participants also considered how the meaning and limits of creativity could change through closer interaction between humans and machines.
Copyright and intellectual property formed another part of the discussion, with attention given to the difficulties generative AI creates for protecting intellectual and creative work. The seminar also addressed scientific and ethical considerations surrounding the use of AI across medicine, literature and other knowledge fields.
The event formed part of KFCRIS and KFP initiatives connecting the humanities and sciences through discussion of contemporary issues affecting the future of knowledge and creativity.
