Jordan says it intercepted five missiles launched from Iran

AMMAN, July 29 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Jordan’s air defenses intercepted and brought down five missiles launched from Iran early Wednesday, the Jordanian military said.

A military spokesperson said the armed forces would continue protecting Jordanian airspace and confronting threats to the country’s security, sovereignty and citizens.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps separately said it had launched ballistic missiles at US military targets in Jordan, according to a statement carried by Iranian state media outlet Press TV.

US Central Command said the IRGC had carried out an “attempted surprise attack” against US forces in the Middle East but did not specify where the incident occurred.

No information on casualties or damage was immediately available.
