Jeddah, January 3, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – King Abdulaziz International Airport reported a record 53.4 million passengers in a single year, the highest annual count recorded at a Saudi airport, according to a statement on the airport’s performance.

The airport also handled 310,000 flights and processed 60.4 million pieces of baggage, the statement said, describing the baggage total as a 12% increase compared with 2024.

It also processed 9.57 million Zamzam water bottles and handled 2,968 cargo flights, according to the statement.

Jeddah Airports Company CEO Eng. Mazen Johar said reaching 53.4 million passengers reflects high operational readiness and represents a milestone as the airport prepares to potentially double this number in the coming years.

Johar said the achievement was supported by the guidance of Saudi leadership and continued support from the minister of transport and logistic services, the president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and the CEO of MATARAT Holding Company.

He said the airport is strengthening its position as a regional aviation hub through expansions, increased capacity and improved services, in line with the aviation programme and Saudi Vision 2030.

Johar expressed gratitude to government and private sector partners for what he described as collaborative efforts that contributed to service delivery.
