Ithra Opens Registration for Eighth Design Challenges Hackathon

DHAHRAN, September 8, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, known as Ithra, has opened registration for the eighth edition of Ithra Design Challenges.
The six-day design hackathon will be held from November 16 to 21 as part of Ithra Design Week at the center’s headquarters in Dhahran.
The 2026 program features four specialist tracks: Urban Spaces, Product Design, Visual Communication and Global Impact.
Each challenge will bring together between 20 and 30 participants, who will work individually or in teams with support from the program’s partners.
Participants will follow an intensive schedule of workshops and talks designed to provide them with the knowledge and tools needed to address their selected challenges and develop innovative solutions.
The initiative forms part of Ithra’s efforts to empower creative talent, support the development of cultural and creative industries and expand opportunities for collaboration.
Registration will remain open through October 24 on the Ithra website.
Ithra, an Aramco initiative, seeks to foster knowledge, creativity and cross-cultural engagement while contributing to Saudi Arabia’s growing creative economy.
