Gaza, October 25, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The Israeli military said on Saturday that its forces conducted a “targeted strike” on an individual in central Gaza who was allegedly planning to attack Israeli troops.

The strike comes amid a U.S.-backed ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas, more than two years after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip. Both sides have accused each other of repeated violations of the truce.

Israel said the operation targeted a member of Islamic Jihad, though the Palestinian group has not issued an immediate comment.

Witnesses told Reuters they saw a drone strike a car, setting it ablaze. Local medics reported four people wounded, with no confirmed fatalities at the time of reporting.

Separately, witnesses said Israeli tanks shelled eastern parts of Gaza City, the enclave’s largest urban area. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Several Israeli media outlets reported that Israel had allowed Egyptian officials to enter the Gaza Strip to help locate the bodies of hostages captured during the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israeli communities that triggered the conflict.

Under the current ceasefire terms, Hamas has pledged to return all hostages taken during the 2023 assault, though the remains of 18 individuals are still believed to be in Gaza.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has not yet commented on the reports.
