Riyadh, March 19, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Iranian missile attacks struck Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City, causing fires and significant damage to liquefied natural gas facilities, Qatari authorities and QatarEnergy said on Thursday.
QatarEnergy said the strikes caused “sizable fires and extensive further damage,” adding that emergency teams were working to contain the blazes and that no casualties had been reported.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defense said ballistic missiles hit Ras Laffan, the country’s main energy hub, just hours after an earlier attack, while the Interior Ministry confirmed that its rescue teams were responding to fires in the industrial area.
Ras Laffan Industrial City is a key center for global liquefied natural gas production and exports, making Qatar one of the world’s leading energy suppliers.
Qatar had already halted production earlier in the conflict, and officials warned that the damage could delay the country’s ability to restore supply to global markets once the war subsides.
The facility has been repeatedly targeted during the escalation, with earlier strikes also causing significant damage, according to QatarEnergy.
