RIYADH, June 11 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Iran warned that any U.S. attack on Kharg Island would trigger a severe response, after President Donald Trump threatened to seize the country’s key oil export hub.

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, warned of a “firm, crushing, painful, and regret-inducing response” if Washington attempted to attack or seize the island.

Azizi described Trump as “confused and erratic” in comments to Iranian newspaper Hamshahri.

He stressed that Iran and its territory, including Kharg Island, were fully prepared for any attack.

Azizi also pointed to what he described as a high level of military readiness on the island.

The warning followed Trump’s statement that the United States could take control of Kharg Island and other Iranian oil infrastructure.
