Iran Warns of Immediate Response to Threats as U.S.-Iran Talks Continue in Doha

PARIS, July 1 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Iran will deliver an immediate and powerful response to any threat against its people or leadership, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Wednesday.

Araqchi made the statement in a post on X, saying the United States had committed to restraining Israel and warning that Iran would respond if Israel acted against that commitment.

The remarks came as the United States and Iran held technical talks in Doha aimed at reaching understandings on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and securing a lasting ceasefire, a source with direct knowledge of the talks and an Iranian official said.

Araqchi’s post was attached to comments by Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, who said Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was “marked for death.”

The Strait of Hormuz remains a central focus of regional diplomacy because of its importance to maritime navigation, energy flows and global economic stability.
