Iran Warns of ‘Eye for an Eye’ Response to Infrastructure Attacks

PARIS, July 23, Saudi Arabia Breaking News – Iran will respond forcefully to any attack on its infrastructure under an “eye for an eye” defence doctrine, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Araghchi said any aggression against Iran, including attacks on infrastructure, would prompt a powerful and decisive response.
His comments followed a warning from US President Donald Trump that Washington could strike an Iranian bridge or power plant for every commercial vessel targeted in the Strait of Hormuz.
The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Mousavi, also warned of immediate retaliation if the United States attacks Iranian bridges or power plants.
Mousavi said Iran could target electricity supplies to US allies hosting American forces in the region.
IRGC-linked media outlets said last week that the Revolutionary Guards would respond in kind to further US attacks or escalation and would seek to match the scale of any military action.
Iran previously launched ballistic missiles at US forces at Iraq’s Ain al-Asad air base following the killing of General Qasem Soleimani in 2020.
