Iran Threatens to Destroy Regional Infrastructure if US Strikes Its Power Plants and Bridges

TEHRAN, July 16, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Iran threatened to destroy infrastructure across the region if US President Donald Trump carries out plans to strike Iranian bridges and power plants, a senior military spokesperson said Thursday.
Trump has warned that the United States could begin targeting the infrastructure next week unless Tehran returns to negotiations.
If Washington acts on the threat, Iran’s response will “not be merely proportionate, it will be superior,” said Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for the Iranian military’s central command.
Zolfaghari said regional infrastructure “will be crushed” in “such a way that no trace of it will remain,” according to a statement carried by Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB.
“The strikes will be more severe, more extensive, and more destructive than ever before,” he added.
The spokesperson did not identify the countries or infrastructure that Iran could target.
Zolfaghari also warned that Tehran would “under no circumstances” permit US involvement in the Strait of Hormuz.
“This is Iran’s unbreakable red line,” he said.
