Iran state TV issues threat targeting Gulf energy infrastructure

RIYADH, March 18, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Iran’s state television broadcast a warning on Wednesday stating that the country could target oil and gas infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
The broadcast referenced potential targets including Saudi Arabia’s SAMREF refinery and the Jubail petrochemical complex, as well as energy facilities in the UAE and Qatar.
The statement followed earlier reports from Iranian state media that facilities linked to the South Pars gas field had come under attack.
No official confirmation of any imminent action was available, and no response was immediately issued by authorities in the Gulf states.
