Iran Says U.S. Memorandum Text Finalized, Signing Set for Friday in Switzerland

RIYADH, June 15 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Iran’s deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs announced that the text of a memorandum of understanding with the United States has been finalized and will be formally signed on Friday in Switzerland.

Kazem Gharibabadi told Iranian state media that the official signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding would take place in Switzerland.

Gharibabadi stressed that Iran’s commitments under the memorandum would take effect starting Friday.

He added that two measures would take effect immediately: a permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, and the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade imposed on Iran.

Gharibabadi described the memorandum as the result of both diplomatic efforts and what he called Iran’s military achievements.

The remarks followed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that an agreement with Iran had been reached and that Washington would end its naval blockade on the country.

“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
