Riyadh, February 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Iran said it targeted U.S. military facilities in several Gulf countries and fired barrages of missiles toward Israel after the United States and Israel began strikes against Iranian military and government targets on Saturday morning local time.

Explosions were heard across parts of the region as missile defences were deployed to intercept incoming missiles.

Iran launched “dozens” of ballistic missiles toward Israel, Nour News, an outlet affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported. There were no reports of casualties.

The IRGC said Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, and a U.S. naval base in Bahrain had been targeted.

Iranian state media also reported that Muwaffaq Al Salti Air Base in Jordan and a U.S. base in northern Iraq were targeted.

Several missiles were fired at the UAE and intercepted, and debris fell in a residential area, killing one civilian, the UAE’s official news agency reported.

One missile struck a U.S. navy facility in Bahrain, with no reports of casualties.

A Qatari official said Qatar intercepted two Iranian missiles over the country. Kuwait’s military chief of staff said air defence systems engaged incoming missiles, while Jordan’s military said it intercepted two ballistic missiles targeting the kingdom.
