PARIS, July 6 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Iran’s top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said implementing the ceasefire agreement signed with the United States is “difficult, but achievable,” Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported.

Ghalibaf, who also serves as speaker of parliament, made the remarks during a meeting with Muhammad Ismail Darwish, head of the Hamas political bureau, who was in Tehran for the funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

During the meeting, Ghalibaf said Iran does not “have peace with America and will not recognize Israel,” according to IRIB.

He also reaffirmed Tehran’s support for what Iran calls the “resistance front,” a term used by Iranian officials to refer to the regional armed groups backed by Tehran.

“When necessary, that support comes in the form of missiles; when political pressure is needed, that pressure is applied through negotiations,” Ghalibaf said, according to IRIB.

Ghalibaf also said that “avenging” Khamenei would come through the “liberation of Jerusalem,” IRIB reported.

The 14-point agreement signed last month between Iran and the United States sets a 60-day period for negotiations on sanctions relief, Iran’s nuclear program and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The agreement does not refer to Tehran’s support for regional armed groups or to its drone and missile programs.
