Hail, Sept 27, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Mount Muhajjah, a prominent natural landmark located 240 kilometers southwest of Hail, has been highlighted by the Heritage Commission for its historical, cultural, and geological significance.

The mountain features sandy sedimentary rock formations, natural arches, and surrounding dunes, with low-lying pastoral areas that support desert flora. These qualities make it a popular destination for overland trips and camping, particularly in the winter and spring seasons.

Officials noted that Muhajjah holds exceptional historical value, with distinctive rock inscriptions and drawings dating back to ancient eras. The depictions include men, camels, horses, deer, and lions, alongside Thamudic inscriptions and what researchers describe as a “traveler’s diary,” reflecting its role along ancient caravan and trade routes.

The Heritage Commission reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the site and promoting its scientific and cultural importance, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives to preserve national heritage and enhance the international profile of Hail’s antiquities and rock art.
