Gulf Leaders Extend Condolences on Passing of Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh

Riyadh, September 24, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Leaders from Gulf states have extended their condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the death of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia.


King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain sent two cables to King Salman and the Crown Prince, praising the late scholar’s virtues and legacy, and conveying his sympathies to the bereaved family and the Saudi people. Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also sent two cables offering condolences.


Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of condolence to King Salman, while Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, and Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, conveyed similar messages.


Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman sent a cable to King Salman expressing condolences and prayers for the late Grand Mufti.


In the United Arab Emirates, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers also conveyed their sympathies. Messages were sent by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla of Umm Al Qaiwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah. Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers of the Emirates also sent similar condolences to King Salman.


Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh had served as Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars, President of the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta, and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League.
