Makkah, December 12 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Friday urged worshippers to uphold noble character and moral values, stressing that social cohesion and stability depend on strong family structures, the preservation of traditions, and the proper upbringing of children.
Sheikh Saleh bin Humaid said that noble character is defined by a balance of strength, mercy and courage, alongside a firm commitment to truth. He noted that such values are fostered through adherence to religious principles and a clear sense of identity.
In his sermon, Sheikh bin Humaid warned against contemporary challenges linked to superficiality and the excessive pursuit of luxury, particularly through the influence of social media. He cautioned that an overemphasis on fleeting trends can distract individuals from reflection and weaken deeper moral and intellectual engagement.
The imam emphasized the importance of reinforcing ethical values within families and communities, underlining their role in maintaining social stability and continuity.
