Emirates Global Aluminum reports significant damage at Abu Dhabi smelter site

RIYADH, March 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Emirates Global Aluminum said its smelter site in Abu Dhabi suffered significant damage in Iranian missile and drone attacks, with a number of employees injured.
The company said the attack hit its Al Taweelah site.
Chief Executive Abdulnasser Bin Kalban said the safety and security of employees remained the company’s top priority and that EGA was assessing the damage to its facilities.
EGA is the Middle East’s largest aluminum producer and the second-largest supplier to global markets.
The company accounts for about 4% of global aluminum production and nearly half of the aluminum produced in the Gulf region.
