RIYADH, Aug 17 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt condemned Israel’s declared rejection of the Road Map for implementing US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the Gaza conflict, along with its rejection of Palestinian statehood.
In a joint statement, the ministers said the Israeli position repudiated the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and jeopardized collective efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.
They held Israel responsible for obstructing efforts to end the war in Gaza and warned that further rejection, delay or non-compliance could worsen conditions on the ground and prevent the plan from being implemented.
The ministers described the Road Map, which they said had been accepted by Palestinian factions, as the outcome of mediation involving Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, the United States, the High Representative of Gaza and the Board of Peace.
Under the Road Map, the decommissioning of weapons would proceed alongside the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the deployment of the International Stabilization Force, the transfer of administrative authority to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and the reconstruction of the territory.
The ministers called for sustained US involvement to secure Israel’s compliance with the commitments and arrangements contained in the plan and prevent further obstruction of its implementation.
They also urged the Board of Peace, with active US support, to take immediate and concrete measures within its mandate to protect the integrity of the plan and advance its second phase.
The statement called for full and immediate implementation of the Comprehensive Plan to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza, support reconstruction and recovery, and create the conditions for security and stability.
The ministers rejected attempts to deny or prevent Palestinian statehood, including through unilateral measures. They reaffirmed their support for an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, under international law and relevant UN resolutions.
