COLOGNE, July 14, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — The European Union Aviation Safety Agency advised airlines on Tuesday to avoid flying over Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates amid renewed security risks across the Gulf.
The advisory also covers part of the airspace above the Gulf of Oman, west of longitude 58°E.
EASA said the recommendation applies to “all altitudes and flight levels” and will remain valid until July 29 “unless reviewed earlier.”
The agency said the temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran had faced “recurrent and significant violations,” creating a renewed high-risk environment across the Gulf.
“Iranian efforts to maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz, recurrent attacks against commercial vessels, and related US military actions create high risks for the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates,” EASA said.
The agency said the risks also extend to airspace over the Gulf of Oman west of longitude 58°E.
