Jazan, January 5, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Divers exploring the waters off Saudi Arabia’s Jazan region are drawing attention to coral reefs and marine life in what local enthusiasts describe as a growing marine tourism activity, supported by tourism infrastructure and maritime services.

The marine experience is strengthening Jazan’s position as an emerging tourism and maritime destination, with its coasts and islands attracting sea and adventure visitors and being cited as promising sites for investment in marine tourism, in line with ongoing regional development, according to the statement.

Jazan’s diving sites include the Farasan Islands, as well as Qandal, Ahbar and Darrakah, which are described as rich in coral reefs and offering underwater landscapes suitable for divers of varying skill levels.

Diving enthusiasts said the activity has evolved into a tourism industry that includes training, photography and environmental exploration, pointing to water clarity and the diversity of coral reefs and marine life. They also stressed the importance of expanding diving schools and sea excursions to support the local economy.

The statement said diving along Jazan’s coasts has become more organised and safer through adherence to safety standards and proper training, making it accessible to both enthusiasts and beginners.

It added that young people in Jazan have developed skills in diving, training and rescue, welcoming diving tourists, accompanying sea trips and providing guidance to ensure safe experiences, supporting sustainable tourism and strengthening Jazan’s profile on the marine tourism map.
