Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman receives German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Riyadh

RIYADH, February 4, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Wednesday at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

An official reception ceremony was held for the German chancellor, followed by an official talks session, according to the report.

The talks reviewed bilateral relations, areas of cooperation and opportunities to develop ties across sectors, as well as regional and international developments and related efforts.

The meeting was attended by senior Saudi officials including Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Finance Minister Mohammed Al Jadaan and Investment Minister Khalid Al Falih, SPA reported. Senior German officials also attended, including State Secretary and government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius and Germany’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Michael Kindsgrab.
