Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Inaugurates Second Year of Ninth Shura Council Session, Highlights Economic Growth and Regional Stability

Riyadh, September 10, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, inaugurated on Wednesday the second year of the ninth session of the Shura Council, delivering the annual royal address.

Upon arrival at the Shura Council headquarters, the Crown Prince was received by Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz and Shura Council Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh. The ceremony included the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcoming address from the Speaker.

Dr. Al Al-Sheikh expressed appreciation for the leadership’s support, noting that the Council issued 462 decisions during the first year of its ninth session, including measures on annual reports, regulations, agreements, and memoranda of understanding. He emphasized the Council’s role in advancing legislation and representing the Kingdom in regional and international parliamentary organizations.

Delivering the royal address, the Crown Prince underscored the Kingdom’s economic achievements, including non-oil activities surpassing 56% of GDP for the first time, with GDP exceeding SAR4.5 trillion. He highlighted that 660 global companies have established regional headquarters in the Kingdom, surpassing Vision 2030 targets, and cited progress in artificial intelligence, defense industry localization, and labor market reforms.

The Crown Prince acknowledged challenges in the housing sector, citing rising residential property prices, and said policies are being developed to rebalance the market, reduce costs, and expand housing options.

On regional issues, he condemned Israel’s recent attack on Qatar as a violation of sovereignty and international law, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s full support for Qatar. He also denounced Israeli actions in Gaza, reiterating the Kingdom’s position in support of Palestinian rights and the two-state solution, as outlined in the Arab Peace Initiative.

The address also referred to Saudi positions on Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Sudan, stressing the Kingdom’s commitment to regional stability.

Concluding his speech, the Crown Prince reaffirmed that all efforts are aimed at safeguarding citizens’ dignity and advancing national development across all fields.
